Hmmm... Bored...

OK, so I am bored tonight. Shayna is asleep and mark is watching *Barry Bonds*. I thought that it would be fun lurking around the internet. I stumbled upon a funny site. Check out my results:
Your Theme Song is Beautiful Day by U2

"Sky falls, you feel like
It's a beautiful day
Don't let it get away"

You see the beauty in life, especially in ordinary everyday moments.
And if you're feeling down, even that seems a little beautiful too.

HELLO -This just happens to be my favorite song!!!!

Happy Birthday, Art!

Sorry for the lack of posts, lately. We got back from Mark's parent's house on Tuesday and I've come down with a cold, so I haven't been very proactive!

Last weekend we packed up the family truckster and headed north to Mark's parent's house to celebrate Art's 70th birthday. We left early Saturday morning and arrived mid afternoon. The drive was great. No problems. We enjoyed some
afternoon time in the pool the rest of the day. on Sunday, the rest of the family came over to celebrate.

Here's a cute one of Shayna with her two cousins, Cooper and Kaitlyn. Those three had lots of fun playing and running around!

Here's Shayna's other cousin, Grace.

Here are the kids with Grammie getting the cake ready!

and here they are helping Art blow the candles out!

Here's a really nice shot of the pool! It's so beautiful up there! We had a wonderful weekend and we can't wait to see everyone!

Bastille Day, Anniversaries, & Birthday... Oh My!

Yesterday was Bastille Day, my parents & uncle & aunt's 39th and 17th, respectively, wedding anniversaries, and our friend, Mike's birthday. There was a lot of celebrating this weekend, even though we really don't celebrate Bastille Day (I watched the Tour de France - does that count?).

So it pretty much started out as a normal day... Shayna emptied my vase of it's beautiful flowers mark gave me for our anniversary... and placed her duckies in what was left of the water...

We had the Lindsay Family over to celebrate Mike's birthday and we also had our neighbor, Jenny and her daughter, Larissa, over for dinner, as well. Mark made some "1-2-3 Margaritas" and we were all sufficiently inebriated. We put a couple of kid fences up and everyone was on their own... it was great!

Here's a cute picture of the Lindsays...

Here's Mason & Shayna - gotta love Mason's T-Shirt!

Here are some pictures that Shayna took with our camera (she's quite brilliant!):

Everything Else!

Right now I should be working on a report I promised to do over a month ago for my old place of employment. I am 99% finished right now... the wild one is still sound asleep. I don't know how she has soooo much energy. OK, maybe it's because she's a 29 pound toddler that eats every 5 minutes! She's been asleep for an hour and a half. I have come to the conclusion that she sleeps better when the AC is on. Uh Oh...she's up!

Le Tour de France... again...

"Photo Friday" - Tomorrow begins the Tour de France. Running from Saturday July 7th to Sunday July 29th 2007, the 94th Tour de France will be made up of a prologue and 20 stages and will cover a total distance of 3,550 kilometres. One of these days we'll have to pack up and spend a month in France following the Tour de France. When we win the lottery, I plan on spending the whole month of July in France. Here are pictures of Shayna in her Maillot jaune. The one on the bottom left is from 2 years ago and the one in the upper right is from this morning. The Maillot jaune is the same one in both pictures. She loves wearing it so I'll let her wear it out in public today! If you think I'm Tour crazy, you should read this wonderful piece written by a gal named Cathy Mehl.

GO LEVI !!!!

*** Also, a heartfelt congrats to our good friends, Jenna & Charlie! Their unnamed baby boy was born on the Fourth of July (his actual due date!) - 9 lbs, 12 ozs
This is baby #4 (they have 2 1/2 year old triplets, too...)!

C R A Z Y !

OK, so today pretty much started off as a normal day. Shayna & I spent the night at the parents house after attending Shayna's cousin Alexander's 2nd birthday. Check out that slide in the background... Shayna was up & down that slide a few dozen times. Here's a video of my little daredevil.... (& her fat mom)

She's so cool!

So anyways, we get home and I decide to take the garbage cans out to the curb for tomorrow morning's early pickup. I drag the recycling can and there's a strange woman at the curb asking if she can look in my garbage for some important papers. I told her NO, of course, and drag the can back to the house, closing the gate behind me. I decided then that I would put Shayna's shoes on so we could go back outside and call 911 for this lady, as she was still wearing her nightgown plus, she had one of those whiplash neck collars on. As I was bending over putting Shayna's shoes on in my doorway, she appeared RIGHT BEHIND ME! Scared the you know what out of me, so I yelled, "GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!!!!!" She took a few steps back and sat in our little courtyard. I dialed 911 and told them of our situation. Long Beach's finest came out about 20 minutes later. In the meantime, I felt really sorry for the woman and struck up a conversation. It was more like crazy talk, but I didn't want to leave her in our courtyard by herself. We talked about everything from dragonflies to planets and back again! Actually, it was really intriguing. The police finally arrived and asked me what was going on. I told them what happened and they escorted her back to her house. Apparently, she lives right up the street. The police came by afterwards and told me that they couldn't do anything for her, which I thought was strange. They also told me where she lives so we can make sure to watch out. He also told me to lock our gate and front door! Washington state is looking better and better every day!!!! I took this picture through one of the windows on our door, so nobody would notice. That's our garbage can in the foreground, where it's still sitting right now, because I don't want anyone, crazy or not, sifting through my "important papers" and empty wine bottles. For some reason, this whole event really shook me up. I think it's the protective parent in me now...
P.S. don't call 911 on your cell phone! It doesn't work!!!
