Disneyland...

After we returned from our wonderful trip to San Diego, it was off to Disneyland to celebrate Shayna’s friend's, Daniel, 2nd birthday party. It was really fun! We all got to take part in the festivities. Everyone received a Mickey Mouse shaped birthday cake to decorate with frosting, sprinkles, and M&Ms. After decorating and devouring our cakes, Mickey & Minnie Mouse made their grand appearance! Shayna was so excited to see them! I was really nervous about her standing there, alone… with them. She really seemed to enjoy it! I think it’s because she saw all of the other kids doing it! I hope that there’s a long line to visit Santa, so she can see other children sitting on his lap!!

Last couple of weeks...

Well, we left for San Diego/Sea World the next day (Sunday). We arrived at the Hyatt Islandia in just under 2 hours. The next day we woke up to a very warm morning and headed over to the park. We were kind of early, so we waited in line...

Our first adventure was a behind the scenes tour. We were able to feed the dolphins, eels, & turtles. Shayna had a blast and I know that the adults had a great time, too! We had our very own private show with Flipper!

Then it was off to Souplantation to meet up with the Amazing Trips! It was great to see Charlie & Jenna +3 twice in one week! We got a lot of stares... but the best part was when a couple approached our table to tell us that they were actually worried when they saw an employee place 4 highchairs at our table... - the nice couple told us that our children were so well behaved that they didn't mind sitting within the "Splash Zone!" Well, they didn't actually say, "Splash Zone," I just added that part - but they did actually tell us that our children were very well behaved!

Day 2 at Sea World was also a blast! I do recommend that you take two days to visit the park, as we didn't feel rushed to see everything. Here is Shayna in front of the Manatee Exhibit.

Here is Shayna checking out the Beluga Whale... or is it the other way around?

Here is Mark & Shayna soaking wet from a crazy dolphin, who splashed us
(& our cameras - which don't work anymore). That dolphin swam away, then returned and LAUGHED at us! He also came really close to me and I got to reach out and touch him! I guess he was apologizing...
* just a note- we got one of our cameras to work, the other is in the shop.

Here is the culprit!

Recent Happenings

Well, it's been about 2 weeks since my last post! Thank G-d Jenna is away on her trip to the east coast or I'd be getting an earful!

First things first... Shayna's birthday party was a success! Mark's parents came down and stayed with us for a few nights before we headed down to San Diego/Sea World. It was really nice having them stay with us, as Shayna really got to spend one on one time with her "Grammie" and "PaPa."

Shayna had her first haircut the Saturday of her birthday party. She was a perfect angel. She just sat there and stared at her self in the mirror. Grammie Lynn had to help keep Shayna's head still during the cutting of the bangs, but other than that, it was easy!

Then it was party time!

Shayna had a really fun time entertaining her guests! Here she is chit chatting over pizza with Mason Lindsay about Mid-East politics... or maybe how fun the party is going...

Here are Shayna's (L. to R.: Mark (Shayna's Great-Uncle), Alan (Shayna's Grandpa-my dad), & Josh (Shayna's Uncle))

Happy 2nd Birthday!!

My Baby Girl...
Today is my little girl's 2nd birthday. I can't believe it. I've been a mom for 2 years. What a strange ride it's been. I really can't remember my life prior to being a mom. I imagine I must have had one, but I'll be lucky if I can remember what it consisted of. Ever since this day in 2004, my life has been comprised of the basics of life: loving, feeding, clothing, bathing, and teaching my daughter. The thing I didn't think would happen before she was born was that she would constantly be teaching me, too. I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful and loving husband, which truly reflects in Shayna’s personality. She is truly amazing. I wouldn't change anything. Happy Birthday baby girl. Mommy loves you more than you will ever know...
